Ok, this hotel is not the 5* I
imagine you would find in say Dubai, Singapore, London etc, but I
wouldn't expect it to be. This is a holiday hotel and a fantastic one
at that.
The pool is the biggest I have ever seen, and is cleaned daily, in
fact it seemed there was someone cleaning constantly.
We are a family, with a 5 year old daughter. I would get to the pool
at 8am everyday and not once was I unable to get 3 sun beds together.
In fact we got sun beds in roughly the same spot each day no problem,
and most days I had the pick of sunbeds.
There are cats roaming around, but only a handful. They do not bother
you unless you decide to feed them.
The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you.
We never waited to be sat down in the restaurant, or to be served
drinks.
The food is excellent, such a variety and lots of it. Every day there
was a selection of cooked meats very often straight from the bbq, and
meat carved by hand. Fish was available each day, with different soups
for the day & evening. For desserts there was a choice of about six
cakes, fruit and four flavours of ice cream. Plenty of choice for
everyone.
The animation team kept my daughter entertained for two weeks. From
the kids club, to the kids disco in the evening. The kids club is in a
little building at the back of the main pool. It is air conditioned
and equipped with toilets. Some days our daughter was the only child
at the club, but Gabriella did a great job.
Peter puts 100% in to everything he does. He has so much energy &
enthusiasm, from Aqua Splash to dancing on the stage at the end of the
evening entertainment, his presence seems to lift everyone.
Our room was spacious with two single beds pushed together & a double
sofa bed, a good sized bathroom with plenty of towels. The maid would
knock at the door early evening to check our room was ok and she would
offer us chocolates from a basket.
If you want to go to the beach, Nissi beach is a 2 minute walk across
the road. I took my daughter in the morning about 10am. It is quiet at
this time, the sea is clear and the sand fine, if you want it more
lively, then the disco starts at midday, I believe.
There were a wide range of nationalities, Russian, German,
Scandinavian and we met some great people. There were now rowdy
people, it's very quiet during the day, I think this is because of the
pool size.
There was a variety of entertainment in the evening, comedians,
Cypriot dance group, magic shows and crowd participation, but the good
thing is you never feel pressured into do doing anything, everything
is so relaxed. Same if you don't like the entertainment, you can sit
in the bar area, or take a short walk to the left of the hotel where
there are a few bars. A taxi in to Aiya Napa costs 8 euro, same to the
harbour. Just one note, we visited a restaurant - Karouso beach- which
is recommended by the hotel, and also has some great reviews on this
site. It's possibly the worst meal we have had, anywhere. We had the
recommended fish meze. This was overcooked, and some of the food had
been previously frozen, which for a fish restaurant on the beach
seemed odd!
To finish, this is a fantastic place, our only dissapointment was only
being there for 2 weeks! Go and enjoy it, we and the people we met
here couldn't find a fault with it. |
