This was our first time at the Aquamare, and we would certainly go back. It is true to say that the Athena Beach and the Athena Royal are a lot grander, have a huge choice at meal times, and have spectacular swimming pools etc. BUT - they are also a LOT more expensive! We thought that for the price, the Aquamare was super. The food was very good, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are more than adequate and well equipped for a nice holiday. The pool area and gardens are beautiful. In spite of the negative reviews we read about the staff, we found them to be friendly - they seem to appreciate a smile and Hello from the customers, which is fair enough, as being friendly works both ways.
The hotel is quiet, and out of the way, and it is true that there is no entertainment laid on, but people need to bear in mind the price that they have paid for their holiday here, and it is not fair to expect all the trappings of a more expensive hotel.
Overall, this was a terrific value for money holiday, and we would definately go back.
