Akamas
The rugged Akamas peninsula is home
to a huge variety of fauna and flora. The protected status of the
peninsula has preserved the area's natural beauty, nature here reigns supreme.
The diversity of wildlife in this area ranks it as an area of outstanding
ecological importance, it's also the reproductive grounds for two species of turtles that have been identified as "near extinction"
in the Mediterranean. |
Neo
ChorioIn
the hills on the edge of the Akamas National Park, nestles the
quaint and sleepy little
village of Neo Chorio.
The clusters of age old
stone built dwellings, the small traditional coffee shops and tavernas
have retained a certain unsophisticated charm unseen elsewhere in
Cyprus. |
Pissouri
Pissouri is
situated midway between Paphos and Limassol, the resort fringes an
idyllic bay of sand and small shingles with stunning scenery, a few
tavernas, and a handful of small shops. The old and pretty village of
Pissouri, set high up on the hillside about 1,000ft above the sea,
commands the most magnificent view of some twenty miles of Mediterranean
coastline, surrounded by vineyards and beautiful scenery. |

Argakas
Argakas village is a ten minute
drive from Polis and lies
at the very beginning of Paphos Forest and only meters away from
the beach, it enjoys both sea and mountain views.
This part of the island is very fertile and has an abundance of
fruit trees including figs, grapes, prickly pears, apples,
oranges and lemons. |
Peyia
Peyia is a large friendly village, spread across the hills about 3.5kms from
Coral Bay and 15kms from Paphos. There are many coffee shops, grocers and tavernas which provide excellent food at very
reasonable prices. A picturesque drive north along winding roads through the Peyia forest and pretty villages brings you to the Akamas peninsula and
Latchi
beaches. |
Larnaca
Larnaca offers an
blend of old and new; the town itself is lively with a
traditional market place, a
palm tree lined promenade with cafes, restaurants,
sandy beach and a yacht marina. The area in and around the town is rich in
history; a ten minute ride to the east of the town, will bring you
into a modern self contained holiday resort, with hotels and
apartments on or around a long sandy beach. |

Chlorakas
A tourist and residential hillside
village just a few minutes' walk from the coast and 3km northwest from
Paphos Harbour. The small village centre has all the usual amenities
and is bordered by luxury villas and apartments to the south and east
and banana plantations to the west.

Polis
Polis is a small picturesque
market town, offering a taste of traditional Greek Cypriot life.
A pretty pedestrian square is the
focal point of the town, offering a good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants
and tavernas. The sand and shingle beach is a 20 minute walk away. |
Paralimni
Paralimni, is not
too big and not too small, a town where the old and the new seem to
work in harmony. It’s a place where you can enjoy the advantages of a
traditional village and the conveniences of a contemporary town; where
modern shops and offices rub shoulders with traditional coffee shops
and old stores. Main thoroughfares lights are crossed by narrow
streets towered over by old Venetian-style houses and crumbling
architecture. |

Coral Bay
A 20 minute drive
from Katos Papho leads you to the lovely
beaches of Coral Bay. This part of Paphos has seen many changes over
the last few years, new holiday accommodation, tavernas and shops have
sprung up in and around the bays, thus creating a small compact resort. |
Pomos
An attractive
seaside village built on a slope between the sea and the wooded
foothills of the Paphos mountains. This is a beautiful area of
deserted beaches and wild coastline.

Protaras
Life in Protaras, revolves around it’s
glorious sandy beaches and sparkling turquoise waters.
Protaras consists of a series of small
communities which have sprung up around various bays stretching from Cape Greco
to Paralimni. The focal point of Protaras, is the renowned Fig Tree Bay,
with its abundance of cafe bars and restaurants. |

Latchi
Latchi lies 4km west of Polis and
stretches along the waterfront with a tempting line-up of fish tavernas facing
the picturesque little harbour. There is no ‘village centre’ but the small main
street offers a handful tourists shops, mini-markets and a bank. The shingle
sandy beaches are conveniently situated on both sides of the harbour and offer
excellent water sports. |
St
Georges
No more than a tiny fishing harbour and a bay overlooked by a large,
sea-facing taverna and church. A simple and wonderful spot to relax and unwind
or watch the night’s catch being unloaded in the early mornings. A bird
sanctuary is within a short drive. There are several tavernas nearby and Coral
Bay is just a short drive. |

Miliou
Miliou is one of the greenest villages in the area, surrounded by
orange groves and vineyards. Set in a valley between Latchi and
Paphos, this quaint village is very unspoilt and perfect for nature
lovers. |
Tala
Tala has become one
of the premier locations in the Paphos region, yet the village still
retains its traditional character with small shops and tavernas, set
round the central square and church. High on a hill, situated between
Paphos Town and Coral Bay, it enjoys uninterrupted, panoramic views. |
