An Introduction to Ixia
|
- Located on the northwest coast of Rhodes and conveniently situated near
Rhodes Town (5km) which can be easily reached by regular buses, taxi or even on
foot. Its superb location to Rhodes Town means that all the attractions and
amenities of a large town are only a 10 minute ride away.
- The west coast of Rhodes receives a constant summer breeze, which tempers
the heat, and provides excellent conditions for windsurfing. If you’re here with
small children the sea can be rather challenging.
- The beach in Ixia is narrow and pebbly and follows the curve of the main
road with most of the accommodation along this stretch. The sea at Ixia is a
fantastic turquoise blue colour with the added bonus of great sunsets over the
Aegean Sea and Turkey in the background.
- There is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and couple of
nightclubs in Ixia to choose from, as well as the odd one here and there in the
surrounding villages.
- The small and traditional resort of Trianda is only a 30 minute walk. There
is a fairly large play park on the beach to for the the little ones.
- Visit the sights of the ancient city (acropolis, stadium and amphitheatre)
and take in some of the best views on the Island and then descend into Rhodes
Town.
- Ixia is modern purpose-built resort, comfortable and peaceful; ideal for
families and couples. A great choice for a relaxing holiday with plenty of
water-sports close at hand for the more energetic.
- Journey time: Rhodes airport to Ixia is approx 12kms - 30mins by taxi

The tranquillity of the resort, and its proximity to
Rhodes town, for those seeking a bit more action. The summer breeze which keeps
the sizzling July and August temperatures down offering perfect conditions for
windsurfing. A good selection of first rate hotels catering for families and
couples alike.
