Me, my sister and my parents went to the Miramare for the first
time from the 2nd August until the 9th August on a half board basis
and this hotel was definately above the standards we were expecting!
ACCOMADATION -
The hotel was lovely. The lobby was all plush sofas and chairs and
there was a very welcoming feel as you walked in.
The rooms were excellent - they were spacious, SPOTLESSLY clean and
they had air conditioning which was a relief from the 35c weather we
were experiencing. The sea view from our balcony was wonderful -
definately worth upgrading!
There were 4 pools - an adult one, the main one where the activities
took place, an indoor one and a childrens one and there were plenty of
sunbeds and parasols so you didn't have to get up at 6am to get one!
There was evening entertainment ranging from dancing to bingo to
singing to a magic show from Paul Thomas which was very funny and
entertaining!
So 5* accommodation!
STAFF -
The staff were excellent. They were all very friendly and nice. The
Thomsons rep Katherine and the entertainment manager Matt were lovely.
If we ever had any problems (which was very rare) the staff would fix
them straight away. We also made a few suggestions to the manager at
the Management Cocktail (see below for details) about the jetty being
too hot at times and the next day he had put some stairs and a hose on
them!! We felt very pampered!
The hotel gave us a lot of free stuff - A free lunch with some of the
staff, a free FOUR course dinner at the A La Carte resturaunt, the
free management cocktails and free departure cocktails. That was very
nice :)
The maids were friendly and cleaned our rooms to an excellent
standard!
Overall wonderful service from the staff!
FOOD-
There was always a lot of variety - anyone who says differently must
be very fussy!
At breakfast, there was fruit, toast, hot food, cereal, coffee, tea,
fruit juices...
At dinner, there was something for everyone and always something new
to try..
The food was very delicious and there was never any problem with it!
The only downside was the expensive Euro prices for drinks but other
than that the food was brilliant!
LOCATION-
The hotel is situated down a quiet side street from the busy main road
which was ideal because it was only a short walk away from shops clubs
etc. without being in the centre of it. It was only a short walk away
from the bus stop which we took to the Old Town, and there was plenty
of traditional shops mixed in with some high street shops there.
The hotel was situated on it's own private beach - it's a black
volcanic sand beach, not golden sand, but a beach is a beach and the
sea was lovely..
If you want a golden sand beach, just go on the no. 30 at the nearby
bus stop and on that route was a long beach!
Limassol is a good central town to see other places (There were some
trips arranged sightseeing but were very expensive!)
Overall, the Miramare is an excellent hotel where you feel pampered
and I would definately recommend it to anyone!
