An Introduction to Protaras
|
Located on the south eastern coast of
Cyprus, close to the main town of the area - Paralimni,
Protaras is a thriving holiday resort, sprawling from Fig Tree
Bay all the way to Pernera. Renowned for its glorious,
golden sandy beaches, a myriad of eateries and relaxed
atmosphere - makes this an idyllic resort. Surrounded by
fertile countryside and a scattering of windmills, with a
diverse coastline of rocky coves, secluded bays and long
stretches of fine golden sandy beaches. Perched on the
hillside overlooking the resort is Ayios Elias church,
enchanting when lit up at night.
With a great selection of superb golden sandy beaches and crystal clear
turquoise waters - shallow, calm and safe swimming, especially good for
snorkelling and water-skiing. Huge selection of water-sports, boat trips
to Cape Greco and scuba diving around the sea caves along the coast.

Shops, Restaurants, Tavernas, Cafes and Bars can be found all over the
resort, the main cluster are on the main strip (Protaras Avenue) which runs
parallel to the beach. When it comes to food, you'll be spoilt for choice,
from fast food outlets - pizzas, burgers etc to the more traditional Greek
Cypriot dishes, International cuisine, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese - the list is
endless! Nightlife centres around the main strip with late night bars and pubs
and a few clubs. For more lively nightlife clubs and bars, visit Ayia Napa
(15min drive, easily accessible by bus or taxi).
